Q: I can't seem to open my ebook but I can see it. I know I checked it out, but it's telling me that it is expired.

- If the ebook is listed in your Cloud and not on your Device, there is a good chance that this file might be the leftover that Amazon leaves behind in case you would like to buy the book from them.
- Make sure that you went through the Amazon.com download delivery process after checking the book out again from the library's Download Center.
- When you see Amazon's thank you message (or if you have already completed this step), make sure that your Kindle has had a chance to sync with your Amazon account through a wireless Internet connection.
- Turn on your device and give it a few minutes to sync itself. If your book is still not showing up under Device, try a manual sync by touching the gear at the top and selecting Sync.
Q: Why is Amazon telling me that my title is in a “pending” status?

A: If your title is pending:
- Your Kindle might not be connected to Wireless. Your Kindle needs a Wireless connection to the Internet to be able to download your library books. (Libary loans cannot be delivered over the Whispernet.) Sometimes your Kindle will drop your home connection. Be sure to check it in your Kindle’s settings. Also, you have to connect manually anytime you use your Kindle on a new Wireless network.
- Your book might be published by Penguin Books. Penguin has withdrawn from Overdrive. Penguin books that we have already purchased must now be delivered to your Kindle through your USB cable from your computer. Page 13 of my Overdrive Ebooks for Kindle guide shows one way of doing this.
- Your book might just be taking longer to download. Give it a few minutes to finish and then check again.
