iPad, iPhone, Android, Nook tablets (using the Overdrive app)
Q: I was able to successfully check my ebook out using the Overdrive App, but I when I touched the maroon Download button, I received an error message telling me that I couldn't. What did I do wrong?
A: You might have skipped a step somewhere along the way. Did you remember to get an ID from Adobe.com and then use that ID to authorize your app? If you skipped these steps, you will need to go back and do them. You will not be able to complete ebook downloads into your app until you do.

- Go to a computer and direct your browser to Adobe.com. In the top right corner you will see a Sign In link. Click it.
- Click the link below the gold sign in button that says, "Don't have an Adobe ID?"
- Fill out the form and submit it. You will have registered with your email address and a password. Your email address will be your Adobe ID. Make sure you choose a password that you will remember in case you need to reinstall the app in the future.
- Go to your Overdrive App settings on your device and authorize it with your Adobe ID (email address) and password.
- Try to Download your ebook again. It should work now.
